RAPID FIRE PISTOL

25 meter rapid fire pistol is one of the ISSF shooting events. The event has been a part of the Olympic program ever since the beginning in 1896, although its rules changed greatly before World War II, after which they were only slightly changed until the two major revisions of 1989 and 2005. The latter restricted the event to sport pistols, thereby banning .22 Short cartridges as well as encircling grips and low trigger-pull weight. This caused a decline in results: the pre-2005 world record was 597, while the present world record is 592.

STANDARD PISTOL

25 meter standard pistol is one of the ISSF shooting events, introduced at the ISSF World Shooting Championships in 1970. It has its roots in the NRA conventional pistol competitions. The standard pistol match is shot with a regular sport pistol (also called a standard pistol) in caliber .22 LR. As with all ISSF pistol disciplines, all firing must be done with one hand, unsupported.

SPORT PISTOL

25 meter pistol, formerly and unofficially still often known as sport pistol., is one of the ISSF shooting events. It was devised as a women’s event in the 1960s, based upon the rules of 25 meter center-fire pistol but shot with a .22 caliber sport pistol instead of the larger-caliber guns men used. As with all ISSF pistol disciplines, all firing must be done with one hand, unsupported.

CENTER FIRE PISTOL

25 meter center fire pistol is one of the ISSF shooting events, and is normally a men only event. Its origin lies in competitions with military-style service pistols, and as such its history dates back to the 19th century.

SHOOTING ASSOCIATION EVENTS10 METER INDOOR SHOOTING RANGE
Innovation and air gun technology has changed dramatically over the last decade, but none of these changes would have been possible without the sports of 10m competitive shooting. A sport that is simple in its design and yet takes a lifetime to perfect and master. A sport that is highlighted every four years at the Olympic as well as at yearly national championships, Asian Championships and at the ISSF World Championships.

For the 10 meter air rifle and air pistol disciplines, match diabolo pellets are used. These pellets have wadcutter heads, meaning the front is (nearly) flat, that leave clean round holes in paper targets for easy scoring. Match pellets are offered in tins and more packaging that avoid deformation and other damage that could impair their uniformity.

SPORTING CLAY

Sporting clay includes a more complex course, with many launch points.

SHOOTING ASSOCIATION EVENTSARMS AND EQUIPMENTS
Trap shooting is typically shot with a 12 gauge shotgun. Smaller gauge firearms (e.g. 16, 20, 28 gauge) can be used, but no allowance is given. Trap shooting is shot at either single or double target presentations. This refer to the number of clay targets which are launched simultaneously.

Shotguns used in trap shooting can differ from field and skeet guns in several ways and normally are designed with a higher “point of impact” as the targets are intended to be shot as they rise.

Common accessories include wearing a vest or pouch that will hold at least 25-50 cartridges or “shells” for single and/or double events. Eye and ear protection are required. Shooting glasses may be something as simple as the eyeglasses or sunglasses one presently wears.
